Plant based eating
For ethical, environmental and health reasons, many people choose vegetarian or vegan eating patterns. This may include eating dairy foods, (lacto-vegetarian); both dairy and eggs, (ovo-lacto-vegetarians) or only plant foods (vegans).
Plant based eating can be healthy and an environmentally friendly choice. However, careful planning is important to ensure you get sufficient nutrients such as omega 3, protein, iron, zinc, Vitamin B12 and calcium. This is particularly important for children, young woman, seniors and for lifelong eating patterns.
